Category: Creativity

Malika Omar, 35, is celebrated as a pianist and composer, using the stories in her original melodies to unite people and raise awareness for those in need.

She was part of the ‘We Cannot Be Silent’ exhibition at the Castle of Good Hope to raise support for victims of violence. Her composition, ‘We Rise’, is a tribute to the victims.

Malika wrote and composed a song, ‘New Hope’, and the proceeds from the song go to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. She is currently a friend of the World Food Programme initiative: Share The Meal.

Malika's work is inspired by Nelson Mandela’s openness to thread compassion and creativity to unite people.
